Canberra Road Reserve, Sylvania
Client:Â Sutherland Shire Council
Location: 18/34 Canberra Rd, Sylvania NSW 2224
Budget: $70,000-$95,000
Project Outline
The brief was to bring Canberra Road Reserve to life by supplying and installing next-generation play equipment with a clean open-plan design.Â
Project Approach
CRS was granted the task to design an interesting play area that stretched over a large area. The design takes little ones from the play fort to a large sandpit, linked with an accessible path for bikes, wheelchairs and prams to cruise to and fro.
The main attraction is an impressive KliX TOWERplay structure, equipped with 3 slides, a rope bridge and various climbing walls and nets. Nearby, an imaginative police station stall and double-bay swing set with a nest seat, strap seat and toddler seat wait under a large shade sail. From here, visitors can stroll or ride across a timber bridge before hip-hopping on an assortment of timber and sandstone trails. Close by, a generous patch of sand wrapped with a bike path and mini-street signs lures the children in for even more fun. The sand pit is full of sensory and imaginative play opportunities, in particular, the two sand-diggers and sand-sifter table are a real hit with the younger crowd.
Canberra Road Reserve has plenty on offer, making sure to entertain and stimulate children from mixed age groups and abilities.
