Project Outline

Hegarty Park Playground has undergone an exciting transformation through the creative collaboration between Shellharbour City Council and CRS. With play variety at the forefront of its design, the upgraded playspace now offers a rich and diverse range of experiences for children and families of all ages.

At the heart of the design stands the KliX SHADE-N-play Combination Tower, a striking centrepiece that provides shaded play opportunities, protecting children from prolonged sun exposure while offering multiple forms of engagement. The tower integrates sensory panels, climbing challenges, and sliding activities, alongside a ground-level window that fosters social role play and imaginative interaction.

Adjacent to the main tower, a Monkey Bar Climbing Unit complements the space, offering five distinct climbing exercises to build strength, coordination, and confidence. Its open layout encourages cooperative and adventurous play among children.

Enhancing the overall experience, the playground also features a Double Bay Swing Set, Seesaw, Spinner, and Voice Tubes, providing a balance of motion, rhythm, and communication play. Integrated NATURALplay elements stimulate cognitive and physical development while harmonising the vibrant play structures with the park’s natural surroundings.

This revitalised playspace brings energy, inclusivity, and imagination to the community of Albion Park, celebrating the shared vision of Shellharbour City Council and CRS to deliver engaging, community-focused recreational environments.
