Project Outline

A successful collaboration between CRS and Penrith City Council has revitalised Gilmour Street Reserve Playground, creating a welcoming destination for families within the Colyton community. Nestled within the reserve, the upgrade playspace now offers an engaging mix of play opportunities, designed to inspire adventure, creativity and connection for children of all ages and abilities.

At the heart of the upgrade stands a KliX BOOSTEDplay combination fort, delivering a diverse range of activities that target every key area of play. Designed to encourage collaboration and imaginative interaction, the fort provides opportunities for both physical challenge and social engagement, fostering a shared experience that strengthens community bonds.

Complementing this central feature, a mini nature play zone introduces obstacle-style elements that support balance, coordination and cognitive skill development. This natural space flows seamlessly into the adjoining double-bay swing set, which includes nest, toddler and strap seats to ensure accessibility and enjoyment for all. Together, these features balance traditional play with modern, developmentally enriching experiences.

Adding a distinctive local touch, the playground entrance has been enhanced with vibrant mosaic tiles. This custom artwork not only creates a striking and welcoming entry point but also reflects community character, transforming the reserve into a destination that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
