Humble Beginnings – 2004

Founded in 2004 as a service-only provider, CRS delivered landscape services and managed all aspects of playground construction throughout NSW and Australia. Through a strong commitment to quality workmanship, reliability and attention to detail, the company rapidly built a trusted reputation with councils, schools, childcare centres, hospitals, holiday parks and leading playground equipment suppliers nationwide.

Evolution – 2010

By 2010, CRS expanded its capabilities beyond construction, becoming a commercial playground equipment supplier and offering clients a complete design and construct playground solution. By importing playground equipment and integrating procurement with in-house project delivery, CRS positioned itself as a full-service playground company โ€“ providing concept design, supply and installation under one roof.

During this period of growth, CRS strategically invested in its future by bringing together some of Australiaโ€™s leading specialised design engineers. This expansion of in-house expertise enabled the development of a new generation of Australian-made playground equipment โ€“ purpose-built to meet local conditions, compliance requirements and community expectations.

Drawing on its strong landscape construction foundations, CRS also developed its own range of custom timber playground products. At a time when many playgrounds were dominated by standalone equipment, rubber surfacing and concrete edging, CRS was among the early designers to champion nature play principles โ€“ integrating natural materials, timber structures and landscape-driven play experiences into cohesive, immersive environments.

By combining engineering excellence with landscape-led design, CRS helped redefine playground delivery in Australia โ€“ shifting from equipment-focused installations to thoughtfully designed community spaces.

As demand for professionally designed and constructed playgrounds continued to grow nationwide, CRS strengthened its manufacturing capability and national delivery model to support an expanding client base.

Expansion – 2016

In early 2016, construction commenced on a purpose-built 2,000mยฒ head office and manufacturing facility in Wollongong, NSW โ€“ a significant expansion from the companyโ€™s original 400mยฒ factory. The new facility was strategically designed to consolidate operations across multiple sites while providing capacity for continued national growth.

After careful consideration, CRS chose to keep its headquarters in the Illawarra region, supporting local industry while strengthening its position as a leading NSW playground manufacturer and contractor. The facility was completed in November 2018, marking a major milestone in the companyโ€™s evolution.

KliX Was Born – 2017

From this new manufacturing base, CRS proudly launched its own product range of 100% Australian-made playground and fitness equipment โ€“ KliX Play Structures (KliX).

Designed and manufactured in Wollongong, KliX quickly established itself as a trusted Australian playground equipment brand. KliX Play Structures is officially licensed to carry the Australian Made & Owned Logo, reinforcing its commitment to local manufacturing, Australian industry and nationally recognised production standards.

With full in-house design, engineering and manufacturing capability, CRS became not only a playground design and construction specialist, but also a recognised Australian playground manufacturer delivering high-quality commercial play structures nationwide.
