Project Outline

Albert Waterways Park has undergone an exciting transformation, bringing new energy, imagination and play to the heart of Mermaid Waters. In partnership with the City of Gold Coast, the park has been reimagined as a lively hub for families, visitors and the wider community to connect, explore and enjoy together.

At the centre of the upgrade are two impressive KliX BOOSTEDplay combination forts. These signature structures offer a diverse mix of activities that encourage children of all ages and abilities to engage in collaborative play. Rope play elements add a dynamic layer of challenge, supporting the development of cognitive skills, resilience and physical strength while inspiring adventure and creativity.

Complementing the forts, the park now features a variety of classic favourites and modern additions to engage every child. A double-bay swing set with nest, strap and toddler seats reinforces inclusivity, ensuring everyone can participate side by side. A seesaw, spinner and an array of sensory play elements enrich the experience further, while standalone features provide opportunities for quieter, more grounded moments of play.

The thoughtful balance of active, social and sensory play ensures the new space is more than just a playground, it’s a destination where children can thrive and families can share lasting memories. Harmonising active, social and sensory elements, the revitalised playground has been carefully designed to now stand as a true celebration of play for Mermaid Waters.
