A major new community space has been unveiled at Londonderry Park, with CRS Playspaces proud to have delivered this exciting project for Penrith City Council.

From initial planning and site coordination through to construction, installation and completion, CRS Playspaces managed the project end-to-end, coordinating the various elements required to transform the existing park into a vibrant and welcoming destination for the Londonderry community.

The completed project features an exciting range of play experiences, alongside a new tennis court, picnic facilities and seating, creating a space designed for children, families and the wider community.

Main Play Area

At the heart of the new Londonderry playspace is a custom-designed TOWERplay structure, developed specifically for the site and incorporating Indigenous-inspired artwork throughout the structure.

The play tower provides a variety of challenges and experiences, including a double tube slide, climbing wall, climbing net and sensory play panel. A dedicated climbing structure sits alongside the tower, encouraging strength, coordination and skill development while providing opportunities for multiple children to climb and play together.

The main play area also features an accessible rocker, double-bay swing and spinning disc, introducing dynamic movement and social play opportunities for children of different ages and abilities.

Grounded and Sensory Play

A dedicated grounded play area provides a quieter environment for younger children and those seeking sensory and tactile experiences.

The area features a smaller panel play fort with an integrated table setting, encouraging imaginative, interactive and shared play. A nature play trail and water play elements further enhance the space, creating opportunities for hands-on exploration and sensory discovery.

End-to-End Project Delivery

A key component of the project was CRS Playspaces’ ability to manage the delivery of the project from start to finish.

Our team coordinated the construction process, site works, play equipment installation and associated park improvements, ensuring the various project components came together efficiently and seamlessly.

This end-to-end approach provided Penrith City Council with a streamlined project delivery process, with CRS Playspaces overseeing the works through to completion and helping bring the overall vision for Londonderry Park to life.

A Space for the Whole Community

Beyond the playspace, the Londonderry Park upgrade also includes a new tennis court, picnic shelter, park seating and picnic setting, creating a welcoming destination for families, children and the wider community.

Together, these improvements have transformed Londonderry Park into a versatile community space that encourages active play, imaginative exploration, sensory discovery, social connection and outdoor recreation.
