Corea Oval Children’s Playground – Miranda

Client:Β Sutherland Shire Council
Location: 244 Box Rd, Miranda NSW 2228
Budget: $50,000-$70,000

Project Outline

To revitalise the existing play space with next-generation play equipment and accessible open-plan design.Β

Project Approach

CRS was granted the task to design a neat and practical play space that accommodated all visitors.

For a small play space, Correa Oval Children’s Playground is packed with play value. The main structure is a KliX BOOSTEDplay play fort that fuses multiple play opportunities, including monkey bars, multiple climbing activities to a ground-level play panel and a slippery slide. Close by, a cluster of stepping discs, a balancing beam and a spinning carousel challenge underdeveloped stabilising muscles.

But there’s more.

On the opposite side of the play fort, a double-bay swing set entices thrill seekers with a large nest seat, strap seat and toddler seat. A 3-in-1 activity panel offers some friendly competition while a shop stall and charging station evoke young imaginations.

An accessible path starts at both park entrances and surrounds the whole play area. Not only does the path make it easier for carers with strollers and people who are wheelchair-bound, but it also acts as a circuit for little bikes and scooter racers as well.

Correa Oval Children’s Playground has plenty on offer, making sure to entertain and stimulate children from mixed age groups and abilities.
